Blavatsky's books especially ISIS UNVEILED and THE SECRET DOCTRINE. There were hundreds and hundreds of words, terms, persons, mentioned=20 that I had never heard about and had no idea as to what these terms=20 meant, etc. Mithras, gnosticism, parsi, Plotinus, Ragnarok, etc.=20 etc. etc., etc. Where could I find some basic reliable and fairly simple explanations=20 and information? Where could I find a concise overview of some of these subjects and=20 terms? I guess there are many approaches to this. But over the years I have=20 collected for my personal library scores of books that would help me=20 gain a basic understanding of the various religions, mythologies,=20 etc. of the world that are mentioned in H.P.B.'s writings. I have started a new webpage that gives some of these basic works=20 that I have found very helpful in giving me the background necessary=20 to understand what H.P. He originally wrote for ULT's "Theosophy" magazine in the 20's and 30's and then left, becoming independent. He was in "Who's Who in Science" for engineering half of the Oakland Bay Bridge among else. He was a prolific letter writer, author of several books, most importantly "The Hall of Magic Mirrors" defense of Madame B. (Still available from J. Hedja-Ekins.)
