I will throw a few views of my own...
I can only agree very much with your view MKR.
Some extra remarks...
And I think one could add, that it at the same time does not imply giving others the right to use prejudice (without being open-minded) to plaster others with what kind of aim or motives they have with their writings or teachings as such - unless they have expressedly forwarded these aims or motives, or they have been proven. I write this because I find that it is a re-occurring theme coupled with the issue in mention.
And since there have been a number of comments on the Key to the Theosophy by Blavatsky on the Inner Section or Esoteric Section having its own doctrines...I find that the following remarks and various facts might be helpful to contemplate...
The Inner (or Esoteric) Section of the Thosophical Society was never created so to Boss, so to speak - the Exoteric outer Section of the Thosophical Society - because the central object and core of the Thosophical Society was altruism - a brotherhood of Humanity, and since people from all walks of life was welcomed to the Society in its early days, while having the Constitution of the Thosophical Society as the only requirement to be upheld.
(H. P. Blavatsky wrote:
"The members of the Theosophical Society at large are free to profess whatever religion or philosophy they like, or none if they so prefer, provided they are in sympathy with, and ready to carry out one or more of the three objects of the Association. The Society is a philanthropic and scientific body for the propagation of the idea of brotherhood on practical instead of theoretical lines. The Fellows may be Christians or Mussulmen, Jews or Parsees, Buddhists or Brahmins, Spiritualists or Materialists, it does not matter; but every member must be either a philanthropist, or a scholar, a searcher into Aryan and other old literature, or a psychic student. In short, he has to help, if he can, in the carrying out of at least one of the objects of the programme. Otherwise he has no reason for becoming a "Fellow." WHEN all these various religious persons mentioned in the above by Blavatsky AND therefore also New Agers today year 2012 are not openly CLEARLY perceiving that they are welcomed ON EQUAL TERMS in the Exoteric Theosophical Society - then - are the present day International Theosophical Society in Adyar - not following the Original Programe for the Exoteric Theosophical Society as given in 1875-1891 and a few years later, perhaps un til year 1910. And even the Pasadena or ULT theosophical organizations; and other theosophical related organizations could easily be added here - because they do not give the seekers that kind of welcome, at least not on their websites which give empahsis to some books and teachigns and authors and others not; and not an outward absolutely non-sectarian stance - in the Exoteric Section. Let each member decide what the esoteric section actually is. Let nobody in the Administration - use subtle psychological belief-based marketing in this regard, and therefore neither Subtle Mind Control.).
And the Thosophical Society never did boss the exoteric section in the early days of the Theosophical Society. This was however, as I see it, clearly changed after the year 1910 or so - with the proclamation of the Krishnaurti Messaiah (to come ! !) at the TS Adyar convent. And today, we witness, it seems, claims of inner section knowledge and the use of this claimed inner section knowledge in various Theosophical organizations outward representations of themselves - when they selectively give emphasis to a small group of exclusive selected past members of the Theosophical Society (selected and given emphasis by unnamed persons ! !) AND their teachings - compared to anybody else - so-called "non-theosophical" or non-"NEO-theosophical" persons and teachings. And that is why I claim that there are almost none theosophical organization today, who clearly enough gives emphasis to the original non-sectarian object of the Theosophical Society.
I write this out of compassion - so that various Seekers - (whether they themselves claim they are advanced or not) - might return to the original - Asolutely Non-sectarian - organizational structure given in the Thosophical Society. - Or rather go forward to an improved one keeping the original - Asolutely Non-sectarian - organizational structure given in the Thosophical Society intact - while adding empahsis on the Science of Psychology (ethically considered, and a science, not a belief) as a necessity, when seeking to promote altruism and an Universal Brotherhood of Humanity. Simply because - Altruism can never be promulgated - without psychological change (! ! !) And since the year 1875 - the science of Psychology has emerged very much on the globe - in the Western as well as the Eastern countries; - since more people are able to read and since this science is more recognized than ever during the last three hundred years or more on this planet. These are logical facts, as I see them.
All the above are of course just my views. I present them from my heart seeking to promote altruism.
I will gladly change them if someone are able to prove them wrong or irrelevant.

The cement that keeps everyone interested in theosophy is Universal
Brotherhood together is not any of the beliefs. And sympathy with it is all
that is needed for anyone to join TS, if they want to.
What one believes is his or her own business. Who am I to judge? Ridiculing
does no good. Let us all think about it.
