I hope you do not mind me adding a few comments and links on Louis Claude de Saint-Martin.
Louis Claude de Saint-Martin:
His chief works are Lettre à un ami, ou Considérations philosophiques et religieuses sur la révolution française (Letter to a Friend, or Philosophical and Religious Considerations on the French Revolution), Éclair sur l'Association humaine, L'Esprit des choses ou Coup d'oil philosophique sur la nature des êtres et sur l'objet de leur existence, and Le Ministère de l'Homme-Esprit. Other treatises appeared in his Ouvres posthumes (1807).

A part of the original aims with the teachings in The Theosophical Society was compartive studying.
The above teachings by Louis Claude de Saint-Martin can be compared with the more new ones by H. P. Blavatsky. And one will most likely find, that H. P. Blavatsky and the aims of the Theosophical Society are more synthesis seeking in its nature and perhaps more clearly rejects dogmatism. But this is just my view. (We aught to remember that the Martinist Papus or Encausse did not like H. P. Blavatsky's eastern doctrines and therefore left the Theosophical Society.)
Theosophical teachings oppose dogmatism. And theosophical teachings without the Eastern doctrine is a teachings without a soul. H. P. Blavatsky said: "Of a piece with the above is the ignorant rudeness of certain critics who pronounce Cagliostro an "impostor" and his desire of engrafting Eastern Philosophy upon Western Masonry "charlatanism." Without such a union Western Masonry is a corpse without a soul."

Thank you so much for this fascinating email, Sufilight, and thanks to all of you for the excellent advice. HPB pretty much gets it right on, about Martinism, but I would add that there actually aren't that many "doctrines" in Martinism. LCSM's writings are more like aphorisms and visionary dialogues that transmit Truth, rather than hard and fast exhaustive accounts of what happens in the Invisible. No one will SEE exactly the same thing, anyway.
