Algeo's more cautious view of K to which I referred:

The other point of interest in Algeo's review is his warning that Krishnamurti's "influence on the organizational and intellectual history" of the Theosophical Society "could lead to a different sort of dogma and sectarianism....There is a tendency to idealize Krishnamurti, to find in him a de facto World Teacher, and to repress his shadow side."

End quote

However else Algeo might be positive of K, fact remains that he is so far the only TS Adyar theosophist in leadership position with such a nuanced view of K, gently rebuking the K-devotees within the TS, Burnier not necessarily excluded.

And whetever Katinka does on her web site, she did express her slight change of view of K.

Remember, our position on K is by far the minority position within the TS. We should be gratefull for anyone moving towards this.

Have patience, and see what the Herzberg paper might do amongst Krishnamurtiite Theosophists.

  Dear Govert,
It is still a question how much John Algeo is devoted to J. Krishnamurti. During Presidential election I had read what John Algeo had published on his web site. I was disappointed! According to the text that time, he considered Theosophy as teachings of Blavatsky and J. Krishnamurti. And names of other writers like Annie Besant, C.W. Leadbeater and Geoffrey Hodson were absent. Now I find name of Annie Besant mentioned while other names absent.
I also noted the links of web sites which John had given on his web site. Most links were from the web site of Katinka Hesselink. Katinka's love of J. Krishnamurti's teaching and efforts to promote K's teaching in TS are unmatched as far as online activities are concerned.
At the same time John had not given any link of any site that promoted teachings of Annie Besant, Leadbeater or Hodson. In fact these were the points that disappointed me and that is why I took neutral stand during the election.
Please study This is official network of TSA. There are photos of Theosophists on top. You will notice that there is no photo of Annie Besant, Leadbeater, Jinarajadasa, Arundale or Hodson. This is alarming. Even they had not given link of my web site on the network for long time. After I joined the group, promoted teachings of AB, CWL and when people appreciated, they gave link of my web site somewhere at the bottom of Links page on the network.
If you see photos on top of this network, you will find photos of Gandhi, who frustrated Annie Besant's plan of bringing India and the West together in co-operation. You will see photo of W.Q. Judge, who had conflicts with Annie Besant and had left Adyar TS.
They have given Blavatsky's photo. But we know from experience that there is hardly anybody who understands what Blavatsky wrote.
Obviously current leaders in TSA, like John Algeo, Betty Bland and others are not promoting core teachings of Theosophy.
Above mentioned facts show that John Algeo is actually helping the spread of Krishnamurti teachings, while not spreading teachings of Besant, Leadbeater and Hodson to any considerable extent.
Similarly you can study TSA web site and Australian web site to guess what is meant by Theosophy for leaders of these National Sections.
