If to read the article attentively, one comes to the conclusion that Jesus existed but it was not Jesus of Gospels but the teacher which lived 100 BC, though some scraps of his teaching have probably penetrated to the New Testament.
So it is exactly the same thing which Leadbeater, Besant and Hodson wrote about.
It is also hinted on on the 3rd volume of the Secret Doctrine, though Blavatsky doesn't say this literally, hiding behind the ancient authors.

Yet the people see only what they want to see. In the last year I've translated the article and published it in our magazine "Vestnik Teosofii". And some readers understood it in a sense that there was no Christ and were offended, aking me, why did I publush such an atheistic article, while the others, who earlier understood Blavatsky in that sense that there was no Christ thought that the author misinterpreted her by admitting his existense!
Next to it I've placed the article by Hodson about Master Jesus, in order to show, how very different methods of research lead to the same conclusions; and again there were some who accepted these two articles differently, and there were even those who asserted that Hodson has plagiarized Talmud!
