Hello Anand,
My thinking is that once a thing is corrupted the bath water is dirty and baby and bath need to be thrown out. The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the NagHamadi have done nothing to alter the corruption of christianity, other than to once again divide the gnostics from the agnostics.

As HPB it is perilous to travel on another's path. Perhaps comparative study is to familiarise ourselves with all the paths which will then form the basis of our own particular path. Each individuals path then becomes unique to that soul and in a way, pathless.

          Hello Cass,
If HPB was against religions, she would not have set second object for
the TS as study of comparative religions.
Also TS position is one should LIVE religions and NOT TO LEAVE religions.
Kishnamurti's speeches are asking people to through baby with the bath
water. Just because there have crept wrong ideas in religions, people
should not give up religions. Krishnamurti asks to through away ideas
of Masters, path of occultism, reading books, religions etc.
I know according to Masters there had come much evil in all religions.
And Masters had expected that bad things would be removed by right
understanding of Theosophy, which they gave through the TS. But
Krishnamurti is asking to forget religions and also major ideas given
by Theosophy e.g. Masters, path of occultism, reading books etc. So,
Krishnamurti's views were very different from Masters, HPB, Besand and
Before the foundation of TS, world was in spiritual darkness, to much
extent. That is why Masters gave esoteric knowledge through the TS. If
people follow Krishnamurti's advice to throwall those ideas, world
will go back to the same state of ignorance which was before the
foundation of TS.

the Masters in their opinion that religion is at the base of most evil
in the world. How can one compare the exoteric with the esoteric?
HPB's mission was not to unite all the religions but to show how these
religions, once pristine, became muddied.
