Frank: No "Double Standard"
Apr 25, 2006 08:44 AM
I did not justify anything with the fact that Besant had published ES texts for the wide public.
I compared both things and said they were different.
Using private texts privately is one thing. Using private texts publically (which Besant did), is another thing.
I hope you see the difference between the "reserved" status and the "public" status of documents.
In one case, you preserve. In the other, you don't. AB did not.
"Collected Writings Volume XII" emerges much later and is a different story. Things are complex, my view of "Volume XII" is no simple or automatic, and we cannot discuss everything at the same time.
But using private texts privately is one thing. Using private texts publically (which Besant did), is another thing.
