MARRIAGE AND DISCIPLESHIP

Thanks for your important posting below. I write as an individual, as the ULT is no centralized bureaucracy or corporation.
I have said earlier today that both Judge and Subba Row (who was also an advanced disciple according to HPB) were married. And that this shows that discipleship is a living, not a mechanistical process.
In the "Mahatma Letters", the Masters often say that exceptions are numerous in Laws dealing with the development of the Universe and in all occult things.
Now I will comment more specifically.
You do not mention precisely what kind of marriage life Judge had, later than in the 1870s. Yet it is clear by what you write and by that we know that William Judge was not an example of a long-standing happy husband.
Also Olcott and even HPB had some kind of marriages in their earlier lives, although in her case marriage was but nominal. In the three cases, marriages were very much probationary and karmic.
For us to have a comparative view, also Porphyry, the neoplatonist philosopher, was married -- and it was a philosophical, not physical body marriage, as he explains in his excellent book "Porphyry's Letter to His Wife Marcella" (Phane Press, USA).
