Cynics were kind of related to Stoics.
Of course later on decadence settled in.
But Antisthenes of Athens and Diogenes give food for thought.

many self-labeled "skeptics" do the same.
I used to call myself Chuck the Cynic, but people kept expecting me to run
around in a sheet carrying a lamp. Heretic is much more respectable.
