Chuck -- In terms of falsifying scientific data, Americans and
Soviets are both guilty.
You have yet to point out where the American government has done this.
Corruption arises among peoples of many
political biases -- left, right, or center. This does not make all
Soviet science wrong nor all American science wrong. Both "Cold
War" opponents have earned the right to claim falsification of
scientific data and human rights abuses.
The Soviet Union had an official policy of altering any scientific
results that did not agree with their political point of view. In the
United States, science was not under the thumb of the state, allowing
other scientists to check the results.
When Americans complained about the treatment of Russian Jews in the
70's and 80's, the Soviets took the case of America's treatement of
the American Indian to the U.N. This began a process of ending
blatant harrassment of American Indian ceremonies. At some point,
literally every American Indian ceremony had been outlawed in the
U.S. after 1900.
Once again, you bring up irrelevancies.
