Yes, I remember those beautiful maps. I subscribed to the National Geographic from the 70s through the 90s, but they started to take up too much room and I didn't have the heart to get rid of them.

Jerry and Krsanna,
One very useful aid I found is National Geographic's Seafloor Maps. I have several of them and they display the Mid-Atlantic Ridge as well as other interconnected ridge feature on a Global basis. there also incorporate the ocean floor volcanic paths and seamounts. They include metrics on bathyrythmic depths also and show all the ocean Trenches as well as the complete Ring of Fire globally. One can notice easily the five significant fracture fault that are seen in the Pacific connecting to the coasts of the Western United States. They also give very nice views of the ocean floor features at both Polar regions. I have seen Book Dealers offer these Maps. Some are quite suitable to mount a hanging pictures.
