Re: Theos-World Tampering with HPB's THE VOICE OF THE SILENCE

Daniel ,

I believe I thoroughly covered in my recent post on the subject the arguments
presented in the below referenced old correspondence -- with my explanation
of the phrase "thin oblong squares" that HPB used in her introduction to the
VOS.

I still claim that in the context of its use as a shape description,
regardless of its occult meaning in a Masonic or architectural context, it could be
taken as an oxymoron... And, therefor, it makes no difference to the Heart
Doctrine teaching that Judge saw it as such, and, as editor, changed it to a more
understandable term describing the shape of the tablets the original Book of
the Golden Precepts was inscribed on.

Consequently "tampering" is much too strong a word to refer to a minor
editorial correction, especially with implied insinuation that, by so doing, the
teachings in the VOS were detrimentally altered.
