Steve: "The idea in certain schools of yoga
is to enter this state without losing consciousness,
then pass beyond it to turiya, and then return to the
waking state."

Brigitte: Your communication with Jerry is verry interresting.
Can you explain to us what is "turiya"and how is it experienced ?

Steve: "It was Blavatsky who equated her Absolute with the
Unconscious of Eduard von Hartmann. What I am trying
to do is explain what Blavatsky thought, the same way
I would explain Aristotle or Heidegger, without
reference to whether or not I personally agree or
disagree. She would have agreed that the Unconscious
is the Ground of all things, and that Parabrahman is
unconscious."
Does this indicate then some sources Blavatsky might have based
herself on, or do you think she developed these ideas from, out of,
reading these Indian philosophers ?

Brigitte: It reminds me that in January 1886, the year Blavatsky
started to write on the SD in Eberfeld, about the creation of an
Advaita Society secretly linked with the TS and sponsored by
Sankaracharya. HPB was delighted with the development, as revealed in
a letter from Constance Wachtmeister to A.P.Sinnet. But Olcott's
letter expressed anxiety "that there should be no new scandals or
rows in connection with the TS for fear Sancaracharya and the whole
orthodox partyy should get frightened and set themselves to break us
up. ( Letters of H.P.Blavatsky to A.P.Sinnet,p.325 )
This indeed happened, and when the disciples of the Swami decided
to abandon the TS, Subba Row followed suit. Calling HPB a "shell
deserted and abandoned by the Masters,"he believed it his duty to
reject her. (Letters of H.P.Blavatsky to A.P.Sinnet, p. 95-96)
