I suggest that before assumptions are made as to the "reality" or not of the seven principles, you check out the cross-sectional "chakrafield" diagram (on the website at http://members.aol.com/uniwldarts/uniworld.artisans.guild/chakrafield.html) ...showing how the "principles" (or energy fields that represent them) are actually evolved, while indicating the complex network of lines of force linking them together in a logical manner based on, and consistent with, the teachings in the Secret Doctrine, as well as with the evolutionary "formulas" given out in the Book of Dzyan. Also attached herewith is a copy a letter explaining this evolution (that is also posted to the bn-study list). I hope it helps clarify the "reality" of the 7 principles, and gives us all a better understanding of the pure science behind ALL the teachings of theosophy with relationship to our connection with the universal spirit. Respectfully, Leon Maurer leonmaurer@aol.com http://www.tellworld.com/Astro.Biological.Coenergetics/ """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Greetings friends, Here is a further look at the scientific basis of cosmogenesis with reference to the second fundamental principle (the laws of cycles and periodicity) and their influence on the subsequent formation of the descending fields that correspond to the fundamental nature of all evolving beings throughout the manifest universe. Study of and meditation on these processes should lead us to a greater understanding of why the 3 objects of the TM were formulated by HPB as a guide to the work and study necessary to be engaged in by all theosophists, in order to arrive at a "truer understanding of the Self, and to be better able to help and teach others." To follow up on 7 as a universal prime number related to all manifest fields or levels (planes) of consciousness in the universe--using purely geometric analysis in combination with the laws of cycles--(referring to my previous posts as well as the cross-sectional "chakrafield" energy flow diagram** at http://members.aol.com/uniwldarts/uniworld.artisans.guild/chakrafield.html)-- Observe that: The (outer) spherical field (shown as a circle on the 2-D cross-section diagram) of universal energy emanating, or expanding from the spin of the *primal* zero-(Laya-) point--initially forms a three cycle continuous, beginningless and endless, "figure eight" loop (two circles inside the surrounding outer circle)--with the dual lines of force flowing inward at the *positive* zero- (cross-) point, through the central (origin) zero- (cross-) point, and outward at the *negative* zero- (cross-) point. Both of the zero points located at the positive (top) and negative (bottom) sides of the outer sphere (corresponding to the supreme spiritual field), are reflections of the primal zero-point at its center of origin. (Note that the energy flows begin at this central zero-point. First, flowing in two streams downward around the lower inner field. Then outward around the outer "mother" field. Then Inward around the upper inner field. To finally return to the primal center.) Since pure perceptive awareness must reside at the zero points (as they are neutral in charge and static in motion), these first three points represent, analogously, the primal subjective trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, or Kether, Chochma, Binah. They also could analogously represent the three gunas; Tamas (as the inertial stillness of the initial and reflected zero-points); Sattva, (as the balance between the positive and negative zero-point forces at the circumference of the fields; And rajas (as the action of the flow of energy in and around the three primal fields--one outer and two inner). This first, triple field stage also represents the "first logos" described more fully in Stanza III of Cosmogenesis in the Book of Dzyan. Since the twin inner derivative spheres are exactly analogous to the outer primal sphere, their energy flows, and inner spherical geometry would also be identical. However, they are on different levels of substantiality (corresponding to frequency changes within each field)--with their positive sides (higher frequency end) being the least substantial, and their negative sides (lower frequency end) being of greater substantiality. Also, where these fields touch each other, their adjacent substantiality (frequency, particle, wave, etc.) approaches identity where their coterminous (and therefore neutral) positive and negative zero- (cross-) points overlap. Thus, the density of each triplet of spheres gradually increases (as frequency decreases) in continuous shading from the initial outer field's positive point (at the top in the diagram) to its negative point (at the bottom of the diagram) in multiples of eight steps (or octaves) following strict mathematical laws of harmony. It follows that all fields are fundamentally dual in nature with respect to their maximum and minimum densities as well as their maximum and minimum energy levels, frequencies, wavelengths, etc.--as they are modified between the extreme zero- (laya-) points where the inner dual spheres meet the surrounding "mother' field (as well as each other)--and where the energy flow crosses over from one field to the other. (In scientific terms this change of field characteristics, from one frequency "order" to another, could be called a *phase* change. It is analogous to the phase changes between, ice, water, vapor, and steam, etc.... And the energy is transformed, similarly, at each such change of state--which may be exoergic or endoergic depending on the direction of change.) Note that any transformation of consciousness from one field to another must pass through the zero-point between them--where the energy flows reverse direction. This accounts for HPB's teaching that images in the astral are reversed. Also, in the case of vision, it accounts for the reversal of image whenever the rays of light, or their derivative image on the retina, in the brain, or in the consciousness fields pass from one "medium" to another--either through a "focussing" lens, or through the similarly focussing zero-point between the fields. This is described in more detail at the web site: http://www.tellworld.com/Astro.Biological.Coenergetics/ When the initial (primal) field and its two inner fields, all complete their triune spherical formations (at stage two), their total number becomes 7 fields. This might be considered the second logos and represents the primordial seven as described beginning in Stanza IV. As this tripling of each inner sphere proceeds to the next (third) stage, the total number of inner spherical fields becomes 14 (although, the total is 15). This is equivalent to the third logos (as described in the last Stanzas of Cosmogenesis in the Book of Dzyan) and is the first initiation of sentient entities--since there are now 7 inner zero-points (Chakras) of manifest consciousness or awareness in addition to and between the extreme or outer positive and negative points of the initial primal sphere--(all, totaling 9 zero-points of awareness). At this third stage or phase we have reached the level referred to in the Book of Dzyan as "the 3, the 1, the 4, the 1, the five, the twice 7, the sum total." We can presume this means that the first sentient beings or entities of the highest consciousness (the "Mind Born Sons") become manifest and active on the cosmic planes. This stage corresponds exactly to the human stage with its seven active principles or levels of "awareness" (sometimes interchangeably called states of "consciousness") (In theosophical parlance, as used by HPB in the Secret doctrine, "planes" would represent the different levels of consciousness within any analogous "mother" field. However, depending on the context, "planes" could also represent the vertical axes (between the positive and negative energy points) on which the primal and the succeeding smaller and smaller fields (created analogously on the vertical line) are strung--as evolution proceeds on down the scale of manifestation to smaller and smaller inline fields after the initial 14 inner fields are evolved a the third logos. One can imagine this evolution proceeding for at least 7 more inward changes--and perhaps many more in multiples of 3, and 7--until the final *physical* human stage is reached.) In all cases, the field structures, no matter how small they are particularized, are identically analogous and corresponding in their intrinsic structure, energy flow characteristics, relative frequency range, polarities, etc. i. e. The dividing of each derivative sphere (field) into its trinity, and inner duality, is continued analogously on ever smaller inward and downward cycles until we reach the final density of the "physical" or material stage where the seven fold nature of individualized human beings can be fully expressed--as a directly derivative, analogous, and corresponding reflection of the second logos, or "primordial seven." This is not meant to be an exact description of the "guided" evolution of the primal and all the derivative fields within it--since, these fields, composed of infinite degrees of variable vibrational energies, interfere with each other karmically (as influenced by the choices made by ALL its zero-point centers of "sentient" consciousness), as well as chaotically (due to random fluctuations and fractalizations that science observes). As a result, it forms ever more complex and indeterminate images and entanglements... Leading to the tremendous diversity of form and structure in the Universe. This includes the right choices as well as the many errors and interferences of misguided evolution made by both advanced beings and humans of both a negative and positive motivation--leading them to make individual choices leading to either creation or destruction. By meditating on the first 14 root fields and visualizing them as more or less transparent spheres, along with an understanding of their analogous relationships to the 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 universal and human principles, along with the 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 levels of both universal and human awareness--one can approach a deeper understanding of the relationships between, as well as the synthesis of science, religion and philosophy that makes up the vast and complex scope of theosophy. In addition, one can carry this meditation even further, by visualizing the motion of energy entering the outer field, splitting into three (or seven) rays, and flowing in and around the inner fields, and then out and around the outer field, to complete an endless series of cycle which maintains the fields until the initial impulse is dissipated, the energy exhausted, and the fields eventually draw back in on themselves--to sleep again... Until, refreshed and energized by the infinitely aware and intelligent primal zero-point center of abstract spin--which is always in touch with the infinite absolute--they awaken and "live" (vibrate) again through their cycles of necessity. (There's much more to be said here about the effects of karma... But, that should be left for another time--since, at this stage, we are concerned only with the ideal states (at the initial manifestation) as well as their analogous and corresponding generations that influence all past, present and future action as if they existed in an eternal NOW). A clear understanding of these lawful processes, leading to a diversity within a unity, will help us attain sufficient wisdom to recognize the essential unity of all beings and their individual connections to the primal source of all, as well as enable us to approach a truer realization of the Self. Such study will not only help awaken in us the realization that "brotherhood" is a law of nature, but will justify the "first object of the theosophical movement" as a necessity in bringing all humankind together into a common recognition of the fundamental need for compassion and altruism in order to promote the peaceful evolution of all mankind as ONE unitary, interrelated organism. In addition it will enable us to correlate science in all its aspects (based on the fundamental laws of cycles and periodicity) with both religion and philosophy, and to understand that these fundamental laws lead to the reality of both karma (based on the eternal "memory" represented by patterns of the highest frequency of vibrational energy (akasha) describing all actions in the universe) and reincarnation (based on the eternality of the common and non-local awareness inherent in each zero-point reflected from and connected to the primal point of universal conscious awareness). This understanding can also be reinforced by a study of all ancient and modern religions--under the guidance of the second object. It will as, as well, give us a basic understanding of the "correlation of forces" in conjunction with the "7 fold human principles" or fields that underlie the reality of the psychical powers latent in man. i.e., The ability to creatively guide the lower energies of matter by focussing (through the will, or the "force" of concentrated awareness) the higher energies of both the consciousness and mind fields--as proposed for investigation in the third object.
